Layered Peanut Butter Bars

Jasmine -- @livelymeals

Let’s be honest. As a child, one of the best things about Halloween was the candy. Even as I got older and I stopped trick-or-treating, I still had to raid my sister’s stash for my favorite treats. One of my favorite treats at Halloween use to be Reese’s cups. Twix bars didn’t fall too far behind. That’s why I created a treat that is like a combination of Twix and Reese’s!

1 cup almond flour

1 tbsp coconut flour

3 tbsp maple syrup

3 tbsp coconut oil (melted)

Peanut Butter Layer

1 cup Wild Friends Creamy Peanut Butter

3 tbsp maple syrup

Chocolate Layer

1/2 cup chocolate chips

1 tbsp coconut oil

  1. Preheat oven to 350. Mix the ingredients for the crust together until a dough is formed. Line a loaf pan with parchment paper and press the dough into the bottom of the pan. Bake for 11-13 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.

  1.  While the crust cools, mix the ingredients for the peanut butter filling. Pour the peanut butter filling onto the cooked crust. Place in the freezer to set. It should only take about 30 minutes.

  1.  After the peanut butter layer is set, melt the chocolate chips and then stir in the coconut oil. Pour the chocolate over the peanut butter layer and place back in the freezer to set. Store these in the fridge or freezer
