A Veggie Boost to your Breakfast

A Veggie Boost to your Breakfast

Hi there Wild Friends friends! This post is so special to me because as a first time mama, making sure my sweet boy Charlie eats well is very important to me! I'm sure my fellow mamas out there can relate, but this post also goes out to anyone else looking for sneaky ways to incorporate more veggies into their diet--in super yummy ways!!

Today, I'm going to share with y'all two of my favorite ways to add a little veggie boost into your breakfast routine! First up..OATMEAL. I love a big cozy bowl of oats in the morning. Charlie and I have been enjoying our favorite bowl with added zucchini or cauliflower! YUP...you read that right, soo fluffy and no change in taste...WIN WIN! It's an easy addition; all you need to do is cook oatmeal on the stovetop like you normally would & a couple minutes before being finished, add 1/4 cup either riced cauliflower or grated zucchini. You'll have a tasty bowl of oats, with an extra boost of veg power, & extra filling with the added fiber; too with your favorite fruit and Wild Friends nut butter...HEAVENLY.

Next up, SMOOTHIES!!! I'm convinced you can't make a bad smoothie blend! The combos are endless. I've been using cauliflower, zucchini, beets, carrots, squash, spinach, sweet potato...oh my goodness..they all work so perfectly! Looking for a delicious beet smoothie blend!?! Try this: 1/2 cup frozen beets, 1/2 cup frozen strawberries, 1 scoop chocolate protein powder (or cacao powder would work well too!) 1/2 frozen banana & 1tbl Wildfriends chocolate coconut peanut butter & milk for desired consistency..I like my smoothie THICK so I add as little as possible! Feeling a little more adventurous!?! Sub the banana for 1/4 cup riced cauliflower.

image2-3A cosimple green smoothie? I got ya covered. 2 handfuls of spinach, 1/2 frozen zucchini, 1/2 frozen banana, 1/4 cup blueberries & classic creamy Wildfriends PB + a scoop of protein power of that's your thing, & enough milk to blend that baby up!

I also want to share with y'all some of my favorite smoothie add ins:

Maca root powder (rich in vitamin B--great for increased energy)

Hemp hearts,

Chia seeds and ground Flax seeds (these superfoods are jam packed with protein, fiber and omega 3).

Hope y'all enjoyed these little veggie hacks!
